Wireless communication plays an irreplaceable role in emergency and disaster relief situations. The enhancement of communication networks and devices used by Public Safety officers can reduce the loss of human lives and improve the security of all citizens. Some of the current limitations of public safety systems in emergency and disaster relief scenarios are (1) Lack of network capacity in emergency scenarios, (2) Lack of interoperability and (3) Lack of support for broadband data rates. |
